Information on Missouri Senate Bill No. 957

Senate Bill No. 957 was introduced by Senator Goodman.  This bill repeals section 137.092 relating to the submission of personal property lists by rental and leasing facilities.  This does affect airports because we act as a leasing facility for aircraft.

SB 957 Bill Summary:

This act repeals the requirement that operators of rental and leasing facilities provide documentation including the owners’ name, address, county of residence, and a description of the personal property located within the rental or leasing facility to the county assessor where such rental or leasing facility is located for property tax purposes.

I believe that we should favor the repeal due to the impact that this could have on the airports in the State of Missouri.  Click HERE for a copy of the bill.

Jack/Shawn:
Just an fyi -

I spoke with George Hendon from FAA this morning.  As you may have heard at the conference, the FAA is planning on having their conference next October (2006).  I told George to call Jack and let him know.  Although this will not impact the Fall MAMA conference this year, it may be a little redundant to have an FAA conference in October and the Fall MAMA conference one month later in November.  What do you guys think?  This may be something that should be discussed at the Fall meeting.

Just to let you know what is going on since our last meeting.
 
If you haven't heard The FAA is planning on changing the conference date to October 2006. With this, Marquita was not sure about the room rates or schedule for MAMA and MoSAC meeting in April 2006. She was able to get the dates for the 1st week or the 2nd in April. The rates would be the same on these dates. This will be decided later.
 
I am working on the program for November 2005.Green and Associates no longer do the program as in the past. The survey that was sent out earlier addressed the issues of concern. I will be calling on members for some ideas.
